cannot open table in Enterprise manager

Hi, each time I want to open a table (return all rows)
this message pop up:
The query cannot be executed because some files are
either missing or not registered.
I found, on microsoft.com, that I just have to reinstall
the product or use regsvr32.exe to register some dll's.
I tried both solutions and it's not working.
Any ideas?

A little more information might help - What application are you using to
perform the query?

xp workstation , it's working fine.

It's very strange because it's working on all my other

|||Are you trying to use Query Analyzer or the table data browser in EM?
Can you run queries using QA?

Cannot Install Workstation Components - Missing Management Studio

Hello,

I have installed SQL Server 2K5 Developer Edition x64, when viewing the option under Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005, I do not have the option for Management Studio.

When I attempt to install workstation components I get a message claiming the components I am attempting to install are already installed on the machine and the install will not let me continue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Further details, I installed SQL Server after .Net 2K5.

Once I removed all SQL Server components, then re-installed SQL Server 2K5 all appropriate tools were present.

While installing , to get tools, you need to select Workstation components from the same window where you sleect Services. If the services are already installed, then go to Control Pannel -- Add/Remove Prorgamm -- Sql server -- Change/Remove -- choose Change and select the Workstation components. It will install only Components. If you are not installed any services, then Install the services and worksation components ...

I resolved the issue prior to you posting by removing SQL Server and SQL Express (installed via .Net 2005 Install). Upon re-installing SQL Server 2005 Dev I was able to access SSMS. I will keep this in mind if I experience this behavior again

cannot install sql server 2005 as SSL-certificate is missing

Hi there U all,

for the third time I am installing SQL-Server 2005 express and i have an error.

Cannot install sql because .NET 2.0 framework is missing allthough I have the .NET 2.0 framework allready installed and even re-installed it too. When trying again I get the message that there isn't an SSL-certificate present.

My question is, would this probably cause the error when installing?

This morning I got an odd problem, I just added a new package to my dtproj and I cannot add a variable. Am I missing anything. ?

Sometimes I find that VS forgets where it is, as though it looses the context that the SSIS designer is active, so SSIS specific stuff is just not available. When this happens try clicking on the package design surface to set the focus back to SSIS, then re-open the Variables window or other window that is giving you trouble.|||I'm having a similar problem. I cannot even open the Variables window. If I right click the design surface and select Variables, nothing happens. I've tried creating a new package and starting from scratch but I get the same problem. I even uninstalled SQL Server and all of the client tools and reinstalled and applied all of the service packs but I still get nothing when I try to create a variable. I'm willing to try just about anything at this point.|||I had a similar problem with Visual Studio once, and using the /resetuserdata switch fixed it.
